Tony Romo got bange dup in the Cowboys Monday night loss to the Washington Redskins and the ripple effect from that may take him out for a week or two as he recovers. The exact problem with Romoās back wasnāt known until today but even now that the diagnosis has been made it doesnāt make understating his issues any easier.
According to Todd Archer from ESPN, Romo hasĀ 2 fractured transverse process in back, which is putting his status in question for this weekendās game against Ā the Arizona Cardinals.
If youāre like everyone else in the world, youāre wondering what aĀ fractured transverse process in back is. Allow some explanation:
"AĀ fractureĀ of a bone is the same as a break in the bone. A fracture of aĀ transverse processĀ is a break of a part of one of the bones in the spine. This part extends out from the side of the main body of the bone (called the vertebral body). A transverse process is shaped like a wing. They extend from both the left and right sides of the vertebral body."

Itās not a fractured back that Romo has, so donāt go around thinking that. Instead, itās an intricate part of the spine that is fractured and not allowing Romo to move freely or how he needs to move.
Basically, leave it to Tony Romo to have one of the most complicated injuries of the season. HE couldnāt have just done something simple like break a finger or twist an ankle. It wouldnāt be a Tony Romo situation though if it wasnāt overly complicated and impossible to understand, but like all other situations all we know is that itās bad news for a surging Cowboys team that actually needs him for once.
