Coming off of one of his best games as a pro, Mathieu said that he is ready to get back to the “old Honey Badger thing.”
“I think last week against the Eagles was one of my better games,” the second-year safety said, per the Arizona Republic. “I moved around really, really well and did a lot more as far as covering the slot and blitzing and playing deep.
“I’m getting back into that old Honey Badger thing. Get ready for it. It’s coming, man.”
In the immortal words of former New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott, “Can’t wait!”
Tyrann Mathieu was one of the biggest playmakers on the defensive side of the ball in college football when he was playing at LSU, so if he is ready to bring the Honey Badger back and is capable of returning to that top form, the rest of the league better watch out.
One thing is for sure: Tyrann Mathieu is finally healthy, and he’s ready to show the rest of the league.
