According to NBC’s Pro Hockey Talk, the Boston Bruins have extended head coach Claude Julien for another three years, although the team’s site officially only states that the contract has been deemed a ‘multi-year contract’.
Whatever, Boston. We all know how excited you are.
Julien, a former Montreal Canadiens skater, has brought the Bruins to the Stanley Cup finals twice in the past four years, bringing home the Cup itself in one of those appearances. He also led the team to a President’s Trophy-winning monster season in 2013-2014. The team has been dominant in the league under Julien’s watch and it looks like that’s not going to change any time soon.
The team most likely waited to see how the coach would do to start off this season, as he had to whip a slightly rag-tag group of skaters into shape. The Bruins went from a 1-3 season start to sitting at a 7-6-0 record at the start of November, so it looks like everything Julien touches turns to gold eventually.
Congratulations, Bruins. Looks like the black and gold will lead the league for at least another three years.
