Dallas Cowboys‘ wide receiver Dez Bryant will soon be seeking a contract to make him one of the top paid players at his position in the NFL. On Sunday, he switched his representation to Roc Nation to negotiate that deal.

Add Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver Dez Bryant to the list of athletes to join Jay Z and Roc Nation.
As Bryant looks to get paid by the Cowboys in a big way in his next contract, he has switched agencies. Roc Nation will be negotiating for him. In a limited sample size, we certainly have evidence to show that Roc Nation succeeds in getting their clients a lot of money (see Robinson Cano).
Things are a little bit different in the NFL, as Bryant’s market will largely be set by the other top wide receivers in the league. Still, this news has to have at least gotten the attention of the Cowboys’ front office.
Adam Schefter reported the switch:
Dez Bryant, in last year of his deal, has joined forces with Jay Z’s Roc Nation, sources say, hiring company to negotiate his next contract.

Shortly thereafter, Roc Nation announced the news themselves:
A warm welcome to the newest member of the #RocNationSports family, @DezBryant! #ThrowUpTheX pic.twitter.com/UpiTIvxaLh

When Roc Nation was initially formed, it was unclear how much of a presence they would be on the professional sports landscape. With each big client they land, it becomes clear that they are going to stick around for a long time, representing high-profile athletes.
Dez Bryant is just the latest big-time athlete to sign on and add to Roc Nation’s credibility.
