Sunday of Week 9 got off to a great start with some great early games including the Eagles winning on the road despite losing Nick Foles, the Cowboys failing to win without Tony Romo, a total rout in Miami, and good finishes in Cleveland and Minnesota. Here are the top fantasy football performers from the seven early games:
Jeremy Maclin-WR-Philadelphia Eagles
Even though Nick Foles was injured and unable to return, Maclin still finished with a solid stat line thanks to an early touchdown and a long bomb from Mark Sanchez. He finished with 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns on his six catches.
Ryan Tannehill-QB-Miami Dolphins
Tannehill was my top last-minute QB start and he delivered with a big game taking on Chargers. He threw for three touchdowns while piling up 288 yards and added an additional 47 yards on the ground.
Jeremy Hill-RB-Cincinnati Bengals

Hill stepped up for the Bengals with a big game while filling in for Giovani Bernard. He ran for 155 yards on 23 carries while rushing for a pair of touchdowns and adding nine yards on his one reception.
Matt Asiata-RB-Minnesota Vikings.
Asiata doesn’t find the end zone often, but when he does they usually come in bunches. Asiata finished with 26 yards on his 10 carries and 31 yards on four catches while finding the end zone three times against Washington and adding a two-point conversion.
Alfred Morris-RB-Washington Redskins
Another running back with multiple touchdowns was Alfred Morris who ripped off 19 carries for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He added a pair of catches for 17 yards as well.
Mike Evans-WR-Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Evans caught a pair of scores against the Browns in the Bucs loss to the Browns in Cleveland. The Aggies alumnus had seven catches for 124 yards, and his two touchdowns helped him finish with a big day.
Allen Hurns-WR-Jacksonville Jaguars
Hurns had a pair of touchdowns while catching six passes for 101 yards. The Jags put up a good fight against the Bengals, but ultimately fell just short.
Andre Ellington-RB-Arizona Cardinals
Ellington had a big day against the Cowboys as the Cardinals beat the Cowboys in Dallas. He finished with one touchdown receiving on his four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown while adding 95 yards on his 21 carries.
Carson Palmer-QB-Arizona Cardinals
Palmer threw three touchdowns in Arizona’s road win while piling up 249 yards. He did have an interception but continues to be a solid contributor
DeSean Jackson-WR-Washington Redskins

Jackson has consistently put up yards and touchdowns even though he doesn’t get many catches. On Sunday, D-Jax had four catches for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Arian Foster-RB-Houston Texans
Foster had a productive day for the Texans even though he left early with an injury. Foster caught a touchdown as part of his two catches for 63 yards and added 57 more yards on his 14 carries.
Miami Dolphins-D/ST
The Dolphins totally dominated the Chargers and their defense turned in a big performance as well completing a shutout while forcing four turnovers and adding four sacks. Miami didn’t have a return touchdown but still had a huge game.
Brian Hoyer-QB-Cleveland Browns
Hoyer threw for 300 yards against the Bucs while connecting on a pair of touchdowns and also throwing a pair of interceptions. The QB situation in Clevland continues to be a fascinating one especially with the Browns winning but Hoyer turning the ball over.
Alex Smith-QB-Kansas City Chiefs
Smith took advantage of a good matchup against the Jets secondary to turn in his best game of the year throwing for 199 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
