The Houston Texans’ top draft pick Jadaveon Clowney may miss another game this season only this time it isn’t due to injury. It’s because “he’s sick.”

Toughen up, kid. After using the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft of Jadaveon Clowney, the Houston Texans had tremendous hopes of what would come. They foreshadowed a terrifying defensive line that was anchored by pro bowler JJ Watt on one end, and Clowney on the other. Alas, one of those anchors may have a weak chain.

After missing six games this season to a knee injury, Clowney would return to action last week to the tune of one tackle. And although the number one may be fine in a friendly game of ‘Uno’, it’s not so much smiled upon when you’re a big ticket defensive lineman.

Clowney informed the team that he was “ill” and has since been listed as questionable for today’s game against the 5-2 Philadelphia Eagles. Strangely enough, Jadaveon was seen entering the facility smiling and looking not so sickly at all. At least, clearly not enough that would  sideline him for a game the 4-4 Texans must have in the win column.

"“What they want is for him to start showing some maturity and learn to play though these some of these ailments,” said Ian Rapoport to NFL.com. “As a source just mentioned to me, this is really the first time Clowney has faced any sort of injury adversity — didn’t really happen in college — and they want him to try to play through it in the NFL, but they’re frustrated with their No. 1 overall pick.”"

This is not a good sign for a team that let other players like Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel pass at their much deficient quarterback position to strengthen their pass rush even more with Clowney. So far it looks like they went to buy milk and left with Spam. Somebody should remind Clowney this isn’t South Carolina. He actually has to play in this league.
