Saturday was a fantastic day for the Missouri Tigers.
Missouri defeated Kentucky 20-10 to improve to 7-2 and 4-1 the league, knocking the Wildcats to 5-4 and 2-4 in the SEC. Missouri’s lone conference loss came in a 34-0 blowout at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs. However, those Bulldogs were taken down by the rival Florida Gators 38-20 on Saturday. With the win, the Gators improved to 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the SEC are have become a legitimate threat to win the SEC East but Missouri has a huge leg up on them, having dominated them in the Swamp 42-13.
With the Florida victory over Georgia, it put Missouri in solo possession in the SEC East and if they win out, they will be playing in the SEC Championship for the second straight year.
When Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel was told Florida defeated Georgia, he was clearly happy and even laughed.
