Robert Griffin III Has Alienated Redskins Lockeroom
Washington Redskins’ fans will see the return of their franchise quarterback Robert Griffin, III and it doesn’t appear the players are too happy about it.
This should be an exciting day for the Washington Redskins. After several weeks of missed games due to a dislocated ankle that occurred on Week Two, their franchise quarterback Robert Griffin, III will return to play against the Minnesota Vikings. All of Washington, DC should rejoice, right? Maybe not so much.

Backup to the backup quarterback Colt McCoy has now rattled off two wins including one to the then 6-1 Dallas Cowboys in Arlington. So why bring Griffin back now? The easy answer is because he’s the #1 guy, period. The alternate answers are anything but simple including accusations that the call came from owner Dan Snyder and not the head coach Jay Gruden.
Does this sound like a Mike Shanahan flashback to you? It should. To make matters worse, it appears the Redskins’ players are beginning to have their fill of the young and oft-injured quarterback. Allegedly, his ego does nothing but exacerbate it all. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, here’s what happened recently:
"“When Griffin began addressing the media in the locker room on Friday for the first time since dislocating his left ankle in Week 2, about 15 teammates began shouting.” Adam Schefter told ESPN as told by Bleacher Report. “It was so loud and distracting, the franchise quarterback — and reporters — had to leave the locker room so Griffin could speak someplace where he could be heard. That’s when the cheering got even more boisterous.”"
There have also been stories surfacing of Griffin reserving entire section an entire section of Nationals’ Park as a means of avoiding people (fans?). However you slice this it appears that between injuries, his actions, and the constant undermining of coaches to benefit this player, the players and fans are beginning to want an end to it all. No matter how much they gave up for him (a ton).
