The Miami Dolphins have been blowing the San Diego Chargers out of the water this afternoon in a huge AFC matchup, and Ryan Tannehill has been playing an awesome game. Miami’s offense has been dismantling the Chargers’ defense, and the Dolphins’ defense has been locking down the San Diego offense and Philip Rivers as well.
Tannehill extended the Dolphins’ lead over the Chargers to 27-0 with a 21-yard touchdown pass to Rishard Matthews. He has been an excellent leader this afternoon for the Dolphins, and is showing the type of potential that Miami saw in him when they drafted him. If he were to play at this level each and every week, the Dolphins would be one of the more competitive teams in the AFC and be legitimate playoff contenders.
Needless to say, this has been a bit of a surprise game as the Chargers were the favorite heading in. Rivers simply hasn’t been able to get his Chargers’ offense playing at any type of level, and the Dolphins came into the game looking to make a statement. Miami looks headed to a 5-3 record, and a big win to get back into the playoff race.
