Already looking at being shorthanded after Devin Davis was hit by a car, the Indiana Hoosiers have reportedly suspended two players for failed drug tests.

Indiana doesn’t officially open its season until Nov. 14 against Mississippi Valley State, but the Hoosiers are already dealing with some personnel losses.

Days after forward Devin Davis was struck by a car driven by a teammate and was hospitalized, the program has reportedly suspended forward Troy Williams and guard Stanford Robinson for failed drug tests.

the suspensions on Monday.

Williams, a sophomore, was a starter in all 32 games last season and averaged 7.3 points and 4.4 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game, shooting .507/.207/.675. He was expected to take on a larger role this season after the departure of forward Noah Vonleh to the NBA.

Robinson, also a sophomore, played in every game last season and made nine starts, averaging 6.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and an assist in 16.9 minutes, while shooting .448/.188/.600.

Davis, a sophomore, remains hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle driven by freshman forward Emmitt Holt.

This is a key season for the Hoosiers and coach Tom Crean, who missed postseason play last year after going 17-15, capped by losing their final three games.

Crean had to rebuild the program in the wake of the Kelvin Sampson debacle, but took Indiana back to the NCAA tournament in his fourth year, 2011-12, and reached the Sweet 16 in back-to-back years before taking a significant step back last season.

In six seasons at Indiana, Crean is 101-97.
