The Jaguars announced Monday they have placed Blackmon on injured reserve and have signed linebacker Khairi Fortt from the practice squad of the Cincinnati Bengals to take his spot on the roster.

Blackmon broke the finger in Jacksonville’s Week 8 loss to the Miami Dolphins and was inactive for Sunday’s loss at Cincinnati.

Blackmon, 30, is in his second season with Jacksonville and started four games this season, notching 30 tackles and one sack while also forcing a fumble.

Blackmon signed with the Jaguars last August after he was one of the final cuts by the Seattle Seahawks coming out of the preseason.

Blackmon was a fourth-round pick by the Green Bay Packers out of Boston College in 2006 and spent four years with the Packers and two with the New York Giants.

After spending 2012 in the Arena Football League, Blackmon signed with Seattle before ending up in Jacksonville.

Fortt, 22, was a fourth-round pick by the New Orleans Saints this spring out of California and opened the season on injured reserve with a return designation. However, he was waived by the Saints last month, claimed by the Bengals and placed on their practice squad Oct. 16.
