Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects quarterback Tony Romo to play the team’s Week 10 game in London.

The Dallas Cowboys looked ‘limited’ with backup quarterback Brandon Weeden under center, per owner Jerry Jones, who is optimistic that the team’s Week 9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals will be the last game fans have to suffer without starter Tony Romo.

“I do see him playing,” Jones told NFL Network’s Desmond Purnell. “He’s going on the trip to London, and logic tells you that we wouldn’t have him make that trip to London and back if we didn’t think he was going to play, so it does depend on the type of week he has at practice. But if he has the week we expect, he should be our quarterback.”

As much as Cowboys fans, and NFL fans in general, want to chide Romo for the late-game gaffes sprinkled throughout his career, it’s always glaringly obvious when someone other than Romo is directing the Cowboys offense.

Many people want to say DeMarco Murray and the running game have carried Romo, but Week 9 clearly showed that it’s a give-and-take relationship as it was the first game of the 2014 season in which Murray didn’t rush for 100 yards. Romo demands certain attention from the defense that simply wasn’t afforded to Weeden, which helped bottle up the Cowboys offense.

The Cowboys scored just one touchdown on offense in their loss and while that was against a solid Arizona squad, it’s clear this team needs its starter back under center. The team will have a chance to get back on track in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars before they can use their Week 11 bye week to rest and recover.
