Just before the NBA’s deadline Friday, the Golden State Warriors and guard Klay Thompson agreed to term on a four-year $70 million deal.
Whether or not he deserved that kind of deal has been widely discussed but if he continues to play the way he has to start the season, there will be little doubt.
On Sunday night, Klay Thompson scored 29 points to lead the Warriors to a 95-90 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers that improved the Warriors to 3-0.
Two plays stood out for him – he absolutely posterized Blazers’ center Robin Lopez and he hit the go-ahead basket in the final minute.
