Mike Glennon has started the last five games at quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but we could see Luke McCown back under center this week.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost four straight games since their lone win on Sept. 28 and coach Lovie Smith said Monday that he won’t make a decision at the quarterback spot until evaluating both Mike Glennon and Luke McCown in practice this week.

That comes a week after Smith said a change at quarterback was not part of the plan.

Glennon threw two interceptions in Sunday’s 22-17 loss at Cleveland, a game that was very winnable, and Smith was candid about the effect of the giveaways.

"“The turnovers really hurt us,” Smith told the Tampa Bay Times. “We need to play better at the quarterback position. I think that kind of goes without saying a little bit. We didn’t put enough points on the board, even with some production that we got.”"

Glennon struggled with his accuracy in Cleveland, completing just eight of his first 18 attempts. He finished 17-for-33 for 260 yards and two touchdowns, with the two interceptions.

The 35-year-old McCown signed as a free agent after a solid performance filling in for an injured Jay Cutler last season for the Chicago Bears, but has not played since tearing a ligament in his thumb in a loss at Atlanta on Sept. 18.

McCown had completed 63.2 percent of his passes for 420 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions at the time of his injury.

Glennon has completed 57.6 percent for 1,417 yards and 10 touchdowns with six picks.

Smith said he won’t decide until late this week whether Glennon or McCown will get the start when the Falcons come to Tampa on Sunday.
