NFL Week 9 Winners and Losers: Cardinals, Roethlisberger and the Broncos

Losers: San Diego Chargers

If there is a bigger surprise coming out of Week 9, I don’t have a clue what it is.

It’s not that the Chargers lost—the Dolphins are good enough to have made that happen.

It’s that they were trounced, bounced and set on fire. Philip Rivers looked terrible, the offensive line was a mess and the team was blown out. None of these things make sense, but it could be we were all hypnotized by that Seattle win in Week 2.

Now we’re watching the Chargers skid into the Bye Week with three straight losses, two of them (Denver and Miami) not even really close and wondering if they can get their act together.

The last team they beat was Oakland, which is the first team they see post-bye week.

Let’s see if they can reboot over the next 14 days.
