NFL Week 9 Winners and Losers: Cardinals, Roethlisberger and the Broncos
By Andrew Garda
Winners: Ryan Tannehill, Miami Dolphins
As bad as the Chargers played, let’s not ignore how well the Dolphins executed. The defense was outstanding and the offense looked very good overall.
Especially Ryan Tannehill, who appears to be coming into his own. He did have a banged up secondary to take advantage of, but it was more than that. He looked efficient, was smart with the ball and threw some nice passes, including on his three touchdowns.
He’s still not quite in sync with Mike Wallace, but that may be as much about Wallace as it is Tannehill.
Two out of the last three games have been very solid for Tannehill. The Dolphins needed him to step up this season and he has. Now they are tied for second in the AFC East with the Buffalo Bills and have to be thinking Wild Card if not division title, since they have the win in their first meeting with the Patriots.
