Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien joked about using social media to interact with Jadeveon Clowney. O’Brien also, unbelievably, referred to Facebook as “Spacebook.”

Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney did not play Sunday as a result of an illness. However, Clowney still found a way to make headlines when it was discovered the rookie was using social media during the Texans’ game versus the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, Texans coach Bill O’Brien is trying to kill this mini-controversy through the use of humor.

See O’Brien’s comments on the matter to the Houston Chronicle:

"“Yeah, he and I, like, we tweeted back and forth (Sunday) night,” O’Brien sarcastically said Monday at NRG Stadium. “I went on Spacebook. He went on Twitter. … I mean, come — I don’t know, I don’t. You know? This guy wants to play football. He’s trying to get better to get back on the field. I’m not going down this Twitter road. I don’t even know what that is really, to be honest with you. Instagram: My kid was trying to talk to me about it last night. Like, ‘This is what Instagram is daddy.’ I don’t know. We’re moving on from that. We’re moving on.”"

O’Brien is a first-year NFL head coach and only 45 years old, but one might think he’s 80 after reading the coach refer to Facebook as “Spacebook.”

Perhaps Clowney should give his coach a lesson in social media. Just not during, you know, a regular season game.

The Texans selected Clowney with the first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
