Ohio State landed themselves a huge commitment for the 2015 class on Monday with the pledge of one of the top signal callers in the country, Torrance Gibson.
As the Ohio State Buckeyes get set for their biggest game of the season this weekend against the Michigan State Spartans, they got some tremendous news on Monday in that they have landed one of the top quarterbacks in the 2015 class, Torrance Gibson.
Gibson, out of American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in a four-star rated prospect according to 247 Sports and is the No. 3 rated athlete in the country for the 20115 class.

The recruitment of Gibson for the Buckeyes has been an interesting one.
Earlier this summer Gibson seemingly had the Buckeyes out of contention for his services, instead listing SEC schools such as Auburn and Tennessee a little higher on his list. However, a few months ago, Gibson took a trip to Columbus for their Friday Night Lights event, and the game changed from there.
Gibson spent some time with the coaching staff and injured quarterback Braxton Miller, and he was sold from there. He came out of there saying that Ohio State was his leader and he never wavered from that, leading up to the events of Monday afternoon.
With the emergence of J.T. Barrett, it will be interesting to see how Urban Meyer and the coaching staff handles Gibson going forward. Should Miller stick to his plan of returning next season, which would move the dynamic Barrett back to the bench, it’s possible they could redshirt him and create an interesting competition in 2016 between Barrett and Gibson.
Time will tell that story, but for now, Buckeyes nation can rejoice in the fact that they have landed one of the best quarterbacks in the country.
