Aaron Rodgers believes that the Mike McCarthy extension was good for the Green Bay PackersNFL future.

The Green Bay Packers agreed to a multi-year extension with head coach Mike McCarthy recently, and it was good news for the Packers and their fans.

Aaron Rodgers was also happy to hear about the deal, and believes that the move is good for the future of the team as it allows them to remain the same type of team without undergoing major changes moving forward.

From PackersNews.com:

"“It’d be something to play with the same team your entire career, and then also start for the same coach. And, if Ted was able to stick around, have the same general manager. That’d be something right there. I think that would definitely speak to consistency there. It’s the stability of knowing you’re going to be working together that gives you a lot of confidence and makes you feel good about the future of the organization.”"

Whenever Rodgers thinks that the Packers have made a good move, he is usually right. McCarthy has done an excellent job since taking over the head coaching job in Green Bay, but has also come up short in quite a few big games. He has had his play calling questioned by quite a few analysts and fans over the last couple of season.

Green Bay has been a playoff contender with Rodgers at the helm, and McCarthy has done a good job working alongside of Rodgers to help the Packers’ offense play at the high level that it has.

Needless to say, changing coaches is never a good thing and needs to be avoided at all costs unless there is nothing left to do. McCarthy has been one of the more successful NFL head coaches in his tenure with the Packers, and there is absolutely no need to consider making a change. Locking him up long-term brings a feeling of job safety and consistency for the organization as a whole.

It will be intriguing to see where the Packers end up this season, and whether or not McCarthy can help bring a championship to the Packers at some point in his current deal.
