Adam Scott has received over 100 inquiries into his caddie position after he parted ways with Steve Williams last month.

Ever since Australian golfer Adam Scott parted ways with caddie Steve Williams last month, he has received over 100 inquiries into the position, as a long line of candidates want to work for the No. 2 player in the world.

While there were many candidates, not all seemed to have the proper experience to work for Adam Scott.

”There were some shockers, like random ones – some guy in Florida who lives at home and looks after his mom,” Scott said Tuesday in downtown Shanghai after taking part in a promotion to celebrate the 10th edition of the HSBC Champions. ”I guess he figured it would be a good job.”

Scott has earned about $18 million in PGA Tour earnings alone over the last five years. He had Tony Navarro for a caddie first, who previously worked for Greg Norman, and then picked up Steve Williams after his split with Tiger Woods.

Steve Williams and Adam Scott split due to the fact that Williams wanted to only work a certain amount of months and spend the rest in his native New Zealand with his family. Scott doesn’t think he will be replaceable.

”The way I see it, you cannot replace a Steve Williams,” Scott said. ”I cannot go out and look for the next Steve Williams. I don’t think that’s possible. I need to go out and find what is going to work for me at this stage in my career, to compliment all the things I am doing now, just like I did when I hired Steve.”

Scott is using David Clark, who currently works for Cameron Tringale, at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai, China this week. He will then play two events in Australia and doesn’t expect to start the rest of his PGA Tour season until the Honda Classic in late February.
