American League 2014 Gold Glove Winners Announced
By Hayden Kane
The American League Gold Glove winners were announced on Tuesday night as MLB awards season gets kicked off for the 2014 campaign.
Gold Glove awards do not necessarily get as much attention as some of the other major awards in baseball, but the people who do notice tend to get pretty fired up about the winners. Understandably so, as there have been some truly ridiculous Gold Glove winners over the years.

When it comes to the awards in the American League in 2014, however, there might be less grounds for debate or anger. The Kansas City Royals were a historically great defensive team, riding that defense all the way to the World Series. To be clear, their work in the field was just as spectacular in the regular season as it was in the playoffs.
That is reflected in the fact that the Royals have three Gold Glove winners. The Baltimore Orioles also had three winners, giving those two teams the majority of the hardware.
Here is the complete list of American League winners:
C Salvador Perez, Royals
1B Eric Hosmer, Royals
2B Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox
3B Kyle Seager, Mariners
SS J.J. Hardy, Orioles
LF Alex Gordon, Royals
CF Adam Jones, Orioles
RF Nick Markakis, Orioles
P Dallas Keuchel, Astros
