Anaheim Ducks: What’s Going On In Net?
The Anaheim Ducks might be without both of their starting goaltenders, which is usually not how you win games.
According to ESPN, the Anaheim Ducks are out their golden rookie netminder, as John Gibson will be on the team’s injury roster for the next four to six weeks with a groin injury.

This sounds bad enough on it’s own… but when you add in that Gibson’s fellow starter Frederik Andersen is out day-to-day with leg tightness, things don’t look very good for the currently very powerful team.
Luckily, Andersen is just day-to-day, so the team should have him back in net ASAP. AHL goalie Jason LaBarbera had his first-ever NHL start on Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche, and luckily he triumphed 3-2… but fans need to look no farther than Columbus to see what a hurt goalie can do to the team’s record. The Blue Jackets are currently on a disastrous downward spiral… and while the Ducks don’t have eight other players out as well, not being one hundred percent in net can be deadly for a cup contender.
There are rumors that the team is shopping around for a pickup guy in goal, but there’s no word on who they’re looking at. Luckily, the off-season left a couple decent prospects without homes- including Martin Brodeur and former Ducks goalie Ilya Bryzgalov.
