Oh, Sean Glennon. Hasn’t anyone told you that Twitter can be a verbal gun whose bullets cannot return once fired?

The brother of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon may have learned this lesson the hard way on Tuesday, when he took to Twitter and said that his respect for Bucs head coach Lovie Smith was “all gone.” Being a quick study, Glennon immediately deleted the tweet and followed up by deleting the account.

While all of that is well and good for Sean Glennon, who played quarterback at Virginia Tech, the problem he now faces is that once posted, it doesn’t take long for someone to notice.

After all, it’s not like Glennon has been a shining savior for the 1-7 Buccaneers, who welcome an Atlanta Falcons team that humiliated them 56-14 earlier this season. After showing some promise during his rookie season in 2013, Glennon — who took over the starting job when opening day starter Josh McCown was injured during the Falcons game — has regressed badly.

Glennon has completed just 57 percent of his passes for 1,417 yards and 10 touchdowns. Although he led the Buccaneers to their only win against Pittsburgh in week four, the offense has averaged just 19.5 points in the four starts since defeating the Steelers.

Chances are pretty good that the Glennon brothers will talk on Tuesday, and one could guess that the Glennon who’s actually putting his body on the field will have a thing or two to say to the Glennon who has lots to learn about social media.
