Dallas Cowboys’ defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford declares injury as sprained MCL and remains very questionable for Sunday.

Silver linings are a good thing. After going down this past Sunday afternoon against the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys‘ defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford was feared to possibly have a grade of knee injury that would keep him out for a significant period of time. The bad news is he will most likely miss some games, but, the terrific news it isn’t too major of an injury.

Crawford apparently has a strained MCL which is definitely a close call as many in the organization and the fandom wipe sweat from their foreheads knowing it isn’t a tear. With the loss of linebacker Sean Lee in the preseason with a torn ACL, this Cowboys defense has made some bold personnel moves that have paid dividends and put them in position to make a run for the playoffs.

Although this year for the Cowboys has been markedly improved over recent years with catastrophic injuries, it has not been completely without them. Just two weeks ago linebacker Justin Durant was lost for the year with a torn bicep, which is a huge blow. The Cowboys expect rookie linebacker Anthony Hitchens to be more than serviceable and there’s little doubt he can be.

The move that saw defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli move Crawford inside has paid off in spades. He’s having a terrific season and it’s good to hear it won’t end prematurely. He hasn’t been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s a long shot, but, sprains come in different grades and if this is a minor one we may see Crawford gut it out. This game is now just that important.
