The Brooklyn Nets have some encouraging news, as Deron Williams mentioned during a press conference that his ankles feel much better and aren’t in constant pain anymore.

Though he admitted he was sore after the first three games of the NBA season, Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams said he feels his body will adjust to playing 40 minutes a night:

Williams answered questions in a group interview

before

the Nets home opener and discussed Brook Lopez and his own health and how he’s been handling life after surgery.

“Some days are better than others right now, I’m not going to lie,” Williams responded when asked if he’d ever not have to think about his ankles. “Some days it’s stiff, it’s sore. They feel way better than all of last year so that’s the most promising thing. Being able to play 40 minutes in two games and being able to walk is great, so as far as timetables, it’s a process.”

Williams played 40 minutes in all three of the Nets’ games so far this season. He played 36 minutes in last night’s 116-85 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
