In the latest chapter of how alcohol and guns don’t mix, a San Antonio man was shot late Sunday night after a stretch of booze and horseplay led into a wrestling match (non-sanctioned by WWE) that eventually led to use of the most extreme of foreign objects.
According to police reports, a group of men spent Sunday night drinking together in the northeast side of San Antonio. Filled with rotgut, one of the booze hounds decided that a simple discussion of whether WCW Monday Nitro was better than Monday Night Raw wasn’t enough and chose the route of which of the liquored up crew was the best wrestler.
Needless to say, this open challenge was accepted, leading into a quickly booked match for the Northeast San Antonio Heavyweight Title. Police reports didn’t have anything regarding highlights from the match, yet it’s pretty easy to imagine that one drunk defeated another drunk, much to the delight of the fellow drunken attendees.
Obviously upset about his defeat, the loser (or so we think) chose not to evoke a rematch clause and instead pulled out a gun, shooting a man (not sure if it was the new NSA Heavyweight champ) in the ankle before fleeing away into the night.
The wounded man was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. He also chose not to take advantage of the opportunity to cut a promo for the next card.
