Houston Texans’ cornerback Kareem Jackson set to miss 3-4 weeks with a sprained MCL

When it rains, it pours. This is clearly evident within the

Houston Texans

organization as they continue to fight through the 2014 NFL Season while battling injuries to key players. Top draft pick Jadaveon Clowney has now missed a total of seven (plus) games in the first nine Weeks and pro bowl running back

Arian Foster

left Sunday’s contest against the

Philadelphia Eagles

with a groin injury.

All pro defensive end JJ Watt has continued to do what he can, but, with no other key players to help take the scope off of his jersey number, he’s beginning to see the brunt of opposing offensive coordinators gameplans. Inside linebacker Brian Kushing has been ailing with a knee injury, wide receiver Andre Johnson is fighting through ankle problems, and cornerback Darryl Morris is doing the same.

Just when you thought things could not get worse, cornerback Kareem Jackson is now slated to miss up to 3-4 weeks with a sprained MCL as reported by Jayson Braddock. This is a Texans team that saw Eagles backup Mark Sanchez come in for an injured Nick Foles and beat them on their own home field. That puts the Texans at a record of 4-5 and quickly falling out of the playoff picture.

The easy thing to say here is “next man up” and to a great degree that is true in the NFL. However, eventually, that next man up simply isn’t as good as the guy that’s supposed to be in that spot. And the Texans are finding that out the hard way as they now have to head to Cleveland to face a resurgent Browns team.
