Jordan Spieth has picked up a fancy new sponsor for his golf bag and it’s one that Tiger Woods used to own.

Jordan Spieth signed an endorsement deal with telecommunications giant AT&T earlier this year and for the first time, he is sporting the logo on the golf course with his new orange and black golf bag with an AT&T logo on it.

AT&T is one of the top supporters of the PGA Tour, with title sponsorship at Pebble Beach and theByron Nelson on the PGA Tour and a Champions Tour event in Texas. However, a player hasn’t endorsed AT&T since Tiger Woods sported an AT&T bag when he returned from knee surgery after his extramarital affairs scandal in 2009.

Spieth is playing for the first time since the Ryder Cup. He is headed back  after the HSBC Champions, and then returning to Asia to play in the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan and then the Australian Open in Sydney before ending his 2014 calendar year at the Hero World Challenge that Woods hosts in Florida.

The 21-year-old golfer has just one PGA Tour victory, the 2013 John Deere Classic, but he is regarded as maybe the top up and coming American golfer. He had two second place finishes last season, eight top-10 finishes and 18 top-25 finishes. He played outstanding at the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in Scotland as he and playing partner Patrick Reed tried to carry the American squad that fell to Europe 16.5-11.5.

We’ll see if  Jordan Spieth can continue to bloom as one of the top PGA Tour players this 2014-2015 season and see if this is the year the young star can nab his first major victory.
