Charlotte Hornets guard Lance Stephenson says he needs to be more aggressive in order to get back to his old self.

When the Charlotte Hornets picked up Lance Stephenson in free agency, he was expected to be one of their top tier leaders, but so far this NBA season, he hasn’t shown much, shooting just 29.6 percent from the floor and averaging just 7.7 points per game.

Lance Stephenson recently had his best game Sunday against the New York Knicks when he had 14 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. While his scoring isn’t up to par, he’s done well rebounding the ball and getting his teammates involved, averaging 10.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game so far this season.

In order to solve his problems with getting to the hoop and scoring more baskets, Stephenson feels he needs to get more aggressive according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

“I tried to make something happen. I let the game come to me last two games and ended up doing nothing,” Stephenson said. “I need to be more aggressive, be in attack mode.”

The Hornets need to improve the offense. Through three games Charlotte, is averaging just 91.7 points per 100 possessions, only the Philadelphia Sixers have been worse. Stephenson along with Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson have been put in place to fix that and should in time, once they all get properly acquainted. The Charlotte Hornets play at the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night.
