Miami Dolphins have chosen to bring back safety Jordan Kovacs for another look, signing him on Tuesday.

The Miami Dolphins are riding high as of late with an unexpected record of 5-3 which includes impressive wins over the New England Patriots and most recently this past Sunday’s shellacking of the touted San Diego Chargers. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is proving to be just what the doctor ordered and the defense for the Dolphins has stepped up time and time again.

In the hopes of keeping that train in motion, the Miami Dolphins announced today via Twitter that they have chosen to sign safety Jordan Kovacs to the team. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because it is. Kovacs initially joined the team as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and was relegated to the practice squad until Week Five when he was promoted to the 53-man roster. He would eventually be released at the end of training camp in 2014.

After a stint on the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad this season, the Dolphins have decided to suit Kovacs up once again and give it a go. This would be a great opportunity for the 24-year old safety out of Michigan to make his mark in the league. At minimum, he should work to prove he belongs with the team that’s now given him two chances to perform.

The Dolphins do have some injury concerns at the safety position between both Louis Delmas and Jimmy Wilson and hopefully this signing helps not only with depth, but, with some effective play.
