Apparently, dozens of letters arrived at Bylsma’s home in Michigan, pleading him to come pull some of the most struggling and desperate franchises from their despair and terrible records.
The story was a satirical look at the life of Dan Bylsma away from hockey, though it did bring up an interesting point.
This early in the season, many fans are being reassured not to panic. They’re being given airplane sick-bags at the door of their respective arenas, and being told to just breathe deeply when they get shut out by the Carolina Hurricanes.
Although the season seems young, though, 1/8 of the games have already been played- and if you’re struggling now, you probably won’t stop any time soon.
There are a couple of coaches that everyone expected to be on the hot seat this year- Randy Carlyle, Dallas Eakins, and Dave Tippett, just to name a few. These teams might all be in the market for a new coach soon- and conveniently, there’s a Stanley Cup-winning coach who’s getting a whole lot of use out of his GameCenter subscription right about now.
This was meant to be funny- but Bylsma, how do you like weather in the desert? Asking for a friend.
