Running back Adrian Peterson has been away from the Minnesota Vikings for the majority of the season following charges of child abuse. On Tuesday it was announced that Peterson was going to plead no content to lesser charges, avoiding jail time altogether.
That makes him eligible for reinstatement with the league and that he could return to the field in the near future, though NFL’s PR man Greg Aiello says there is no timetable on when the the league will review Peterson’s case.
.@NFL spokesman @gregaiello said the league will review the Adrian Peterson matter. “We cannot provide a timetable.”

The Minnesota Vikings have struggled their way to a 4-5 record this season, getting two consecutive wins in as many weeks over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Redskins. But the matter remains, if Peterson was reinstated, would the team welcome him back. According to Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and other unnamed players, he would be welcomed back with open arms.

This isn’t too terribly surprising, Peterson is the best offensive weapon the team has and if he is available why wouldn’t you bring him back from an on the field perspective. It could be a disaster for the organization, their image and a public relations stand point to bring him back though.
Though the run game has been the best part of the Vikings offense so far this season, it is their passing offense that needs the help. Could bringing Peterson back really load the box enough to aid Bridgewater in the passing game?
