Whether or not the Denver Broncos are able to win the Super Bowl a year after reaching the big game and being blown out by the

Seattle Seahawks

,the Broncos are going to have a few big decisions to make.

Two of their star pass-catchers, wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas are both looking for new contracts. They had discussions about extensions during the offseason but once the season began, John Elway decided to put that on hold until after the season came to an end.

It seems inevitable the Broncos will lock those two up but with all of the money they spent in free agency in 2014 (Aqib Talib, DeMarcus Ware, T.J. Ward and Emmanuel Sanders), they will likely have to part ways with a few starters.

According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, wide receiver Wes Welker could be the odd man out in Denver.

Unfortunately for Welker, dumping him would probably sense for the Broncos. They didn’t seem to miss a beat on offense when he was suspended early in the season and he really hasn’t been productive. Plus, he injured his back in the Broncos’ 43-21 loss to his former team, the New England Patriots, on Sunday afternoon.

There has also been speculation that it may be in Welker’s best interest to retire. His concussions are beginning to add up and he needs to think about his brain, among other body parts, in the future.

Welker has 22 receptions for 212 yards and a touchdown this season. In his career, he has caught 863 passes for 9,570 yards and 49 touchdowns.
