Ryan Theriot, formally of the Chicago Cubs, was put in his place when questioning the MLB front office decisions of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

Ryan Theriot is best known as a former Chicago Cubs infielder. He also has won two World Series Championships, obviously neither of which were won with the Cubs. At any rate, he has been laughing at the Los Angeles Dodgers and the move to bring Farhan Zaidi into their front office. Too bad for him, he’s now the butt of the joke.

Initially Theriot took to Twitter to crack jokes about the Dodgers new personnel moves. Apparently he felt that being a mediocre infielder gave him the background to question front office decisions. At any rate, he took his shot anyways.

While it might have initially looked like Theriot got his jab in without recourse, that was soon not the case. He took it one step further and then found himself the face of some public humilation.

As New York Yankees pitcher Brandon McCarthy so eloquently pointed out, neither general manager in charge of Theriot’s World Series winning teams didn’t play baseball. So while there may be some level of credence to Theriot’s comments, to suggest someone only succeeds with background knowledge couldn’t be more off base.

On top of that Ryan Theriot should probably have a better idea of the ramifications his comments could cause before he opens his mouth.

At this point, it’s likely a good thing Theriot is retired, now he can go back to flying under the radar.
