In what came as a surprise, the Kentucky Wildcats were not destroyed by early entrants in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Sure, there two best players, power forward Julius Randle (Los Angeles Lakers) and swingman James Young (Boston Celtics) were first round picks, but everyone is back, including the Harrison twins, Andrew and Aaron. Kentucky also returns big man Willie Cauley-Stein, forward Alex Poythress, center Dakari Johnson and forward Marcus Lee. They also signed another big-time freshman class, highlighted by big man Karl-Anthony Towns. That class also features guard Tyler Ulis, forward Trey Lyles and guard Devin Booker.
Despite the loss of forward Aaron Gordon (Orlando Magic), among others, the Arizona Wildcats have the second best odds to win the title. Next is the Wisconsin Badgers, led by Frank Kaminsky, who made a name for himself in the NCAA Tournament.
The Duke Blue Devils, who feature the top recruit, big man Jahlil Okafor, are next up with 12/1 odds.
