Jimbo Fisher recently responded to some criticisms about his team and where some believe they should sit in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The Florida State Seminoles are the No. 2 team in the College Football Playoff rankings at the moment as they have yet to lose on the year, but some seem to believe that Jimbo Fisher and company are getting a gift.

While the ‘Noles have not lost a game yet, some of their wins have not been all that pretty, leading a lot of folks to believe that they’re not as good as advertised. Maybe they’re just lucky.

It’s no surprise then that Fisher recently noted that he believes simply winning football games is something that should not be overlooked.

“[Winning] is so much harder than we make it seem to be out there,” Fisher said via ESPN.com. “If it wasn’t, guys would be undefeated all the time. … Why do you think I’m nervous every week? A college kid – think of all the things that went through your head at that age. It’s a challenge every week to control their minds to bring them to focus, to understand how to be consistent. That’s the hard thing.”

So far this season Florida State had a tough opener against Oklahoma State and had to come from behind to survive scares from NC State, Louisville, and of course, there was the classic game against Notre Dame which FSU may have lost, had it not been for the offensive pick call at the end of the game.

Still, the defending national champs have yet to lose a game in their last 24 outings and are firmly in control of their fate going forward.

All they have to do is keep winning.
