Gordie Howe’s Family Says He’s Recovering At ‘Remarkable Rate’

Gordie Howe’s family released a statement to update the public on Mr. Hockey’s recovery from a stroke, saying that he’s recovering at ‘a remarkable rate’.
Less than two weeks after Hall of Famer Gordie Howe suffered a stroke, it appears he’s already making progress on the long road to recovery. The Howe family recently released a statement through the Detroit Red Wings website that reassured his many fans that Mr. Hockey is getting better every day.

"The Howe family is pleased to report that over the past week Mr. Hockey has been recovering at a remarkable rate, including his speech, and his ability to walk with the assistance of a walker. Much work lies ahead, and we would like to thank friends and fans worldwide for their prayers and incredible outpouring of support.Our father has been truly moved by the countless phone calls, letters, emails, posts, and the Red Wings “Get Well” gesture during the October 31 game. Mr. Hockey and the entire Howe family cannot thank you all enough."
As seen in the picture above the article, Red Wings fans turned out in droves with signs of support for the four-time Stanley Cup champion and six-time MVP who held the record for most goals in the NHL until Wayne Gretzky broke it as a member of the Los Angeles Kings.
We could hardly expect any less from a man known as much for his toughness as for his offensive ability. Gordie Howe will always be a legend on and off the ice and this latest fight of his has proven to be no exception.
