Jason Kidd Challenges Brooklyn Nets Owner To 1-On-1
By Cory Buck
When asked about recent comments made by Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov, former Nets coach Jason Kidd retorted that he’d be more interested in a 1-on-1 game than in discussing the Nets anymore.
Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov didn’t hold back when asked about Jason Kidd’s ugly departure from the team when the Milwaukee Bucks gave the Nets two second-round draft picks for Kidd and his staff. Kidd didn’t want to discuss that very much, but he did say that he’d be much more interested in what Prokhorov had to say if it involved the two playing a little one-on-one. Cue the suspenseful NBA showdown music.

“I’m no longer in Brooklyn,” Kidd said per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “Unfortunately they keep talking about it. I don’t. I’ll let them keep talking. Now if it was me and him playing 1-on-1 on the court, that would be fine.”
Kidd’s words came in response to those of the Nets owner, who earlier said, “I think there is a nice proverb in English. Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. I don’t think we shouldn’t get mad; I think we should get even. And we’ll see it on the court.”
The prospect of those two going at it on the court is interesting, to say the least. Kidd would clearly be the way better ball handler, but Prokhorov could ball in his time and he is way taller and lankier than Kidd. That doesn’t mean Jason Kidd still wouldn’t likely destroy the Russian in one-on-one, but it makes for an interesting conversation.
Asked if the November 19th game between Milwaukee and Brooklyn would have any special meaning for Kidd, the former point guard quickly panned, “It’s one of 82. I’m only worried about tonight (against Indiana). I’ve been in hostile environments as a player, as a coach.”
