The Philadelphia Eagles’ Jeremy Maclin had an outstanding game Sunday and is rewarded with the offensive player of the week award for the first time.

The 6-2 Eagles had to go from Nick Foles to Mark Sanchez due to injury in last Sunday’s win against the Houston Texans. Jeremy Maclin simply did not seem to care as he was able to haul in a 52-yard catch from the backup and more.
Maclin would finish the day with six receptions for 158 yards and two scores, one to open up scoring and the other to secure the win. Maclin is currently fifth in the league with 790 receiving yards and tied for fourth with eight touchdowns. This is all coming after last year when the sixth-year pro suffered a ACL injury. Opposing offenses should begin to take note as Maclin is, in my opinion, in the running for comeback player of the year.
The Eagles will be without Foles again this week and at least for the foreseeable future so the offense will be under the control of Mark Sanchez. If Sanchez can just show up this week against a bad Jacksonville team, the Eagles should find a way to win.
The Eagles signed Jeremy Maclin to a one-year deal in the offseason but this season could very well propel the receiver to a better deal when the time comes around.
Junior Galette joins Maclin as the player of the week on the defensive side of the ball. The Saints defensive end had two sacks and a forced fumble on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
