They may have just won a Stanley Cup, but the Los Angeles Kings just cannot catch a break this season.

The team is already out the services of defenseman Slava Voynov indefinitely, as he was suspended for allegations of domestic abuse back in September. Kings forward Anze Kopitar, who lit it up during the playoffs this past spring, has also been drifting around with an injury this fall.
It seemed like the team would finally see an end to the bad luck with forward Jordan Nolan finishing off his two-game suspension for an unnecessarily forceful boarding hit on Detroit Red Wings forward Darren Helm, but then this was tweeted out:
The Kings will be playing the New York Islanders on Thursday- and while Williams was off to a bit of a sluggish start to the season, it’s likely that his presence will be missed nonetheless.
The stick being referenced in the tweet, of course, was that of Dallas Stars defenseman Brenden Dillon, who clipped Williams in the eye during Tuesday night’s game. Dillon received a double minor penalty for the play.
