Look, Senators, I get it. I’ve sometimes thought that I was being really clear, and ended up being… ah, not. It happens to the best of us.
The way that Ottawa Senators head coach Paul MacLean explained the team’s decision to keep rookie Curtis Lazar after his ten-game trial period, though, was…. uh.
Uh.
I really cannot even explain it. I just… Seriously, what does it mean? Take a look: This is what MacLean said in an interview with the media regarding the Lazar decision.
"“One thing about the this and the that. He understands the this so if he wants to get to that he has to do this and he’s learned that very early in his career and he does this very well so now he might have a chance for that, whatever that is.”"
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I JUST READ.
Lazar, 19, was selected in the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Senators organization. Per the current CBA, the team had to decide by the player’s tenth game whether he would stay with the Senators for this season, or head back to the juniors.
While Lazar won’t be the only U20 player kept by his squad this season, he’s definitely the only one who’s clearly being coached by an insane person. Good luck, Curtis.
