The Dallas Cowboys still haven’t cleared QB Tony Romo to practice with the team in advance of their NFL game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

While his health appears to be improving, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo still won’t return to practice on Wednesday in London where the team prepares to play the ‘host’ Jacksonville Jaguars.

“(Romo is) following a normal schedule but also listening to his body,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said, per NFL.com. “We had a good productive walk through at the hotel today and we anticipate him adopting that schedule that we’ve had for most of the year.”

For now, the Cowboys will do as they did all summer and practice with second-string QB Brandon Weeden, who was largely ineffective in the team’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals. At 6-3, against an inferior opponent, with a bye week looming, the Cowboys must surely tempted to leg it out in Week 10 without Romo. They could sneak by the Jags and give Romo the extra week to rest up and be 100% ready for the team’s second half stretch, which includes two games against fellow division leader Philadelphia Eagles.

However, the team can hardly afford to take chances in such a tight race. If you don’t win the division in the NFC, you’re going to be competing with some of the best teams in the NFL for a wild card spot. The Cowboys want the division title and they can’t risk losing a lay-up game against the Jaguars in the interest of preserving Romo for one game when he might actually be able to play.

Expect the team to talk up Romo as the potential starter all week, but it appears that this will come down to a game-time decision. If Romo does play, it could largely be as a decoy to draw defenders off the run. Either way you cut it, running back DeMarco Murray is in for a busy game day in London.
