Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez, the star players for the Colorado Rockies, are reportedly available in trades this off-season as the MLB Hot Stove heats up.

The Colorado Rockies have a new general manager in Jeff Bridich, and it sounds like he might be willing to shake things up in his first off-season on the job.

The team has a duo of superstars in Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez that can rival any in baseball. Both play plus defense and hit for power in the middle of the lineup. The problem is, they both struggle to stay healthy and take up a disproportionate share of the Rockies’ payroll.

That has led to much speculation over the last couple seasons and off-seasons about trades involving those two star players. Through the end of the 2014 season, the Rockies’ front office had maintained that they would not trade Tulowitzki or Gonzalez. But with a new general manager in place, it sounds like that philosophy might change.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the following:

"The Rockies are telling clubs they are keeping their “eyes and ears open” for potential deals involving both players, according to major-league sources. The mere willingness to discuss Tulowitzki and Gonzalez is a departure for Colorado, which previously has refused to entertain deals for its two stars. The Rockies, under new general manager Jeff Bridich, are not shopping either player or starting a fire sale, sources say. But team officials finally seem to have convinced owner Dick Monfort to consider all possibilities."

Joel Sherman reports that he has heard the same about the Rockies and their plans this off-season.

Of the two, Gonzalez is probably the player the Rockies would prefer to trade. Opposing teams would probably be more interested in Tulowitzki, but both players will draw concern because of season-ending injures in 2014.
