Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning has been the biggest headline in the NFL for the better part of 15 years. ‘
Over that span, the two have developed into two of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time while putting up huge numbers along the way. Manning is likely going to retire as the leader in almost every passing category and will statistically be the greatest quarterback of all-time. Brady has the advance in wins, specifically in the Super Bowl (Brady has three in five appearances, Manning has one in three appearances) and head-to-head. Brady extended that lead on Sunday when his Patriots blew out Manning’s Denver Broncos 43-21.
Brady has been the hot topic in sports over the last few weeks not only because of his performance on Sunday afternoon but because of what he’s done during the Patriots five-game winning streak. He’s thrown 18 touchdowns with just one interception, which came on a tipped pass in Sunday’s game.
Former Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Brett Favre, an all-time great himself, said in his his latest Sqor Sports video that Brady, not Manning, is the greatest quarterback in the NFL today.
“We’ve learned not to write Tom Brady off. Today’s game, he’s the best quarterback out there,” said Favre via Sports Illustrated. “Not taking anything away from everyone else, but he’s proven that he can get it done. Bottom line, he can get it done.”
Honestly, for as good as Manning and Brady are, the player with the more talented supporting cast usually wins the game. This year might have been an exception considering the Broncos’ big offseason moves and the Patriots’ injuries, which could be why Favre has decided to side with Brady.
