Keys to Victory
The Carolina Panthers bring their banged up roster and struggles into this game. They are sitting at 3-5 after a recent losing streak, yet they are hardly out of the NFC South race. With the struggles on the back end of their defense, the winning formula from last season is gone. It feels more and more like Cam Newton is left to carry this team by itself due to its glaring lack of depth on both sides of the ball.
As for the Philadelphia Eagles, they have the record that everybody expected but they have not necessarily gotten there the way most people thought they would. Their defense has been a little better and their offense has been a little worse. Can Mark Sanchez pick up where Nick Foles left off? Can LeSean McCoy continue to get things rolling on the ground? Can Jeremy Maclin continue dominating opposing secondaries?
If the Eagles’ offense starts to click, it will be a long night for the Panthers on the road.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Eagles -6
Moneyline: Eagles -275, Panthers +230
O/U: 48
Prediction
If the reports of Sanchez’s success in the Eagles’ system are to be believed, that Chip Kelly offense should be able to hum along despite the loss of Foles. Unfortunately for Panthers’ fans, their team seems like a sinking ship, and the Eagles won’t miss a beat as they win this nationally televised game at home.
Final Score: Eagles 31, Panthers 20
