Although Greg Hardy is unlikely to return to the NFL this year, his fellow Caolina Panthers teammates would welcome him back if he were able to return.

More from Carolina Panthers

Greg Hardy was convicted of assaulting a female and communicating threats this past summer, and according to some, his career is likely over. That isn’t keeping his Panther friends from keeping shut about his return.

According to ESPN.com: some of his Panthers teammates would welcome him back despite the social impact of what it would mean.

"“Selfishly, as a player, would we want him as a player on our team? Of course. He makes us better. We also have to understand there’s a bigger picture. There’s bigger things at play, socially, just the environment we’re in. You have to respect that.”"

Of course you would want the guy who broke the franchise record for sacks in a year at 15 on the field. Not that Olsen is wrong, he did what any player would do in this situation, and to his credit, also said that he trusted the NFL, which is a rarity as of late.

This comes after the Minnesota Vikings had players like Kyle Rudolph speak out about welcoming back Adrian Peterson, who just accepted a plea deal, back to the team. Of course players like Hardy and Peterson are great at their respective positions but the situations are different.

There were other players claiming to support Hardy 100 percent, and even s0me speculating a possible return, but I see that as highly unlikely.

Hardy has already pretty much been ruled out for the remainder of this season and next season is up for grabs seeing as he will be entering the free agent market and not many teams are expected to pursue him due to legal troubles.
