Denver Broncos vs. Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders will host the Denver Broncos in an AFC West battle on Sunday in the O.co Coliseum. The Broncos enter this one looking to rebound after a tough loss this past weekend to the New England Patriots. Keys to Victory

The Broncos need to simply stick with what they do best and spread it around through the air with quarterback Peyton Manning leading the way. The Raiders have a solid pass defense (10th in passing yards allowed per game), but that shouldn’t stop the Broncos from throwing it 40 times per game as they are accustomed to doing. On the other side, Denver needs to pressure Raiders rookie quarterback with their talented stable of pass rushers that includes DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller.

For the Raiders, they’ll need to somehow slow down Manning and force him into some uncharacteristic tunrovers. Also, they must have the best performance of Carr’s career. The Raiders have no shot at having success on the ground in this one. Oakland ranks last in rushing yards per game and the Broncos defense ranks first in fewest rushing yards allowed per game. If Oakland is even to be competitive in this one, Carr will have to be on his A game.

Betting Odds

O/U: 49.0

Prediction

The one could be over in a hurry. The Raiders are among the NFL’s worst teams and the Broncos are among the league’s best. Manning should have no problem putting points on the board against an average Oakland defense while the Broncos defense should have little trouble keeping a bad Oakland offense in check.
