The San Francisco 49ers have been a fairly disappointing team this year, and there has been a lot of drama surrounding them this year. They are currently sitting at 4-4 on the season and are in third place in the NFC West division. Frank Gore is very confident that his team will be able to make a comeback and get into the playoffs this season.

“We’re going to the playoffs,” Gore said, via NFL.com. “We’re going to do it. We have great coaches. We have great guys. The last three years, we’ve been spoiled. That’s where we want to go, to get to the postseason. Once everybody takes care of their jobs, we have a great shot.”

Gore hasn’t put up the usual production that many have come to expect from him, and might not even reach the 1,000-yard mark. San Francisco has had quite a few injury issues throughout the season so far, but they have lost a couple of games that they were highly favored to win.

Whether the drama involving Jim Harbaugh has made that much of an impact on the 49ers or not, it still has been a distraction. Gore has carried the football 116 times on the season for 472 yards and a touchdown. Those numbers simply aren’t the type of stats that Gore has been putting up throughout the majority of his career.

Needless to say, this prediction is a fairly bold statement from Gore. San Francisco definitely has the talent to make a run at the playoffs, but they’ll need some losses from other playoff contenders as well. It has been a disappointing season for the 49ers, but perhaps they can turn things around and make a run late in the season.
