The NFL free agency period can be stressful for players who, whether by their choice or not, are looking at the possibility of moving to a new team. The choice can have lasting consequences that will impact the rest of the playersā lives.
Players leave, and stay for a lot of reasons. Some seek the biggest paycheck. Others look for an opportunity to become a starter. A few players have been known to take less money to sign with a team that might win a championship.
There are also family situations that need consideration. Are the business aspects of a move worth uprooting their family and moving their kids to a new school? What about charities or business investments in the previous city? These decisions arenāt always as simple as money and wins.
Sometimes it is best for an individual player to stay with their current team. Other times it is in the playerās best interest to find a new home, even if they donāt wish to leave their current community.
