The Chicago Blackhawks could be without a key part of their offense for the next four weeks, following an injury to forward Patrick Sharp which he suffered during the team’s 5-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens earlier this week.
A report from CSN Chicago initially laid out the four week timetable for Sharp’s return.
On Thursday afternoon, Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville confirmed the news, though he opened the door for a potential return to the ice one week earlier.
This season, Patrick Sharp has recorded three goals and six assists in 13 games
The Blackhawks are already without fellow forward Daniel Carcillo, who suffered a right-knee injury against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 25. Carcillo was also given a four-week recovery timetable and Quenneville says Carcillo remains on track for his targeted return date.
Chicago returns to the ice on Friday night at home against Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. The Blackhawks sit two points back of the Blues in the Western Conference’s Central Division.
